Curtarra FAQ
Plan the curtain first, apply the coupon second
A Curtarra coupon can reduce the checkout total, but the largest ordering
mistakes usually happen before the code is entered. Custom curtains must
match the window, hardware, preferred fullness and required light control.
Complete the configuration first, check the panel quantity and then test
the available discount against the finished cart.
Use the installed rod or track as the main reference.
Select the header, fullness, lining and panel count.
Review dimensions and custom-item terms before payment.
Apply the coupon to the complete configuration, not a base price.
Start with light control, not color
Color affects the room’s appearance, while fabric density, construction
and lining determine how the window treatment functions. Choose the
required level of daylight and privacy before comparing decorative details.
Sheer daylight
A lightweight sheer softens glare and preserves an open feeling. It is
best where daylight is more important than strong nighttime privacy or
room darkening.
Semi-sheer balance
Semi-sheer fabric provides more visual screening than a very open sheer
while still allowing natural light. It can also work as a layer behind
heavier drapes.
Heavyweight drape
A denser curtain creates a more substantial fall and stronger light
filtering. Optional lining can move the same face fabric toward privacy,
room darkening or blackout.
Blackout construction
For bedrooms and media rooms, compare a fabric described as inherently
blackout with a decorative fabric plus blackout lining. Edge and hardware
gaps still influence real-room darkness.
Representative Curtarra curtain comparison
These examples illustrate how Curtarra fabrics differ. Use the table to
narrow the category, then verify the current color, size and construction
options on the exact product configuration.
| Curtain example | Material and weight | Store-listed light blocking | Size or construction note | Practical use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sabrina Heavyweight Linen | 30% linen, 70% polyester; approximately 385 GSM | Approximately 40–50% before optional lining |
Broad custom size range. Extra-long configurations may change the orientation of the fabric texture. |
Living rooms, bedrooms and tall windows where a substantial linen-look drape is preferred. |
| Gary Linen Look Blackout | Polyester; approximately 270 GSM | Listed as 100% light blocking without a separate lining |
Suitable for wide and long custom panels; review construction notes when ordering extra-long lengths. |
Bedrooms, nurseries or media spaces where straightforward blackout construction is the priority. |
| Sandra Cotton Linen Semi Sheer | 5% linen, 5% cotton, 90% polyester; approximately 170 GSM | Approximately 15–20% |
Standard long lengths are available, while taller orders may require seams or an adjusted fabric orientation. |
Soft daylight, layered window treatments and rooms needing moderate visual screening. |
| Tom Scratch Resistant Sheer | Polyester woven construction; approximately 140 GSM | Approximately 10% |
Designed for improved scratch resistance, although no curtain should be treated as completely damage-proof. | Bright rooms and pet households seeking a more durable sheer option. |
| Sandra Cafe Curtain | Cotton-linen-look blend; approximately 170 GSM | Approximately 15–20% |
Short cafe format with header choices suited to a cafe rod or rings. Width still depends on panel count and fullness. |
Kitchens, breakfast areas and lower-window coverage where daylight above the curtain should remain open. |
Light-blocking percentages are store-listed fabric references, not a guarantee
of complete room darkness. Fabric color, lining, panel overlap, mounting
position and light entering around the edges can change the result.
Match the header to the hardware
Header style is not purely decorative. It changes how the curtain moves,
how fullness is calculated and which rod, rings, hooks or track components
are required.
Grommet top
Slides directly on a compatible rod and gives a contemporary wave.
Confirm the rod diameter and available wall clearance.
Back tab
Hides the rod behind the fabric for a clean appearance. Better for
curtains that are opened less frequently because the tabs may not
traverse as freely as rings.
Pinch pleat
Creates structured, tailored folds and works with suitable rings or a
track. Double and triple pleats use different amounts of fabric.
Rod pocket
Gives a soft gathered look on a rod. It suits lighter fabrics and
decorative installations but is less convenient for frequent opening.
Flat panel
A versatile taped header that can work with appropriate hooks, rings
or track hardware. Check which hanging components are included.
Ripple fold
Produces evenly spaced S-shaped folds. It depends on a compatible track,
carriers and tape, so the curtain and hardware must be planned together.
Choose lining by the problem it needs to solve
Adding the darkest lining is not automatically necessary. Consider the
face fabric, desired daylight, street-facing privacy and care requirements.
Unlined
Preserves the original fabric weight and light response. Suitable when
softness and daylight matter more than maximum privacy.
Privacy lining
Adds another fabric layer and makes a light curtain less transparent.
Compare the lining color and care instructions before ordering.
Room-darkening lining
A denser lining can reduce more daylight and add body without necessarily
creating full blackout conditions.
Blackout lining
Intended for the strongest light blocking through the panel. Plan wider
rod coverage and sufficient overlap to reduce light around the edges.
Curtarra custom-order checklist
Work through these checks before entering payment details. Each decision
affects either the finished dimensions or how the curtain hangs.
Measure the coverage width
Measure the installed rod or track rather than only the glass. Include
the planned extension beyond the frame and space for the open curtains
to stack.
Select the header first
Grommet, rod-pocket, pleated and ripple-fold curtains are calculated and
hung differently. Confirm hardware compatibility before entering width.
Choose single or split panels
A single panel draws to one side. Split panels meet in the center and
stack on both sides. Check whether the selected product is priced per
individual panel.
Set the intended fullness
More fullness creates deeper folds and uses more fabric. Curtarra’s
guidance generally presents fuller ratios for drapes and especially
for lightweight sheers.
Measure the finished length
Decide whether the hem should float above the floor, just touch it or
puddle. Measure from the correct hanging point for the chosen header.

hardware. Save the final configuration before testing a coupon.
Curtarra coupon and custom curtain FAQ
Quick answers to the questions that matter most before configuring a
custom window treatment.
Curtarra focuses on made-to-measure window treatments, including
curtains, sheers, blackout drapes, cafe curtains, Roman shades, woven
wood shades, roller and solar shades, bamboo shades, curtain rods,
tracks and related hardware. Available materials, colors and
configuration options vary by product.
Many Curtarra custom curtain configurations use one panel as quantity
one. If two separate panels are required, the quantity may need to be
changed accordingly. Always review the panel selection and cart
quantity because a single-panel and split-panel configuration can be
presented differently.
Fullness is the relationship between the fabric width and the area being
covered. Curtarra’s measurement guidance commonly presents 2× as a
full-looking drape choice and 2.5× for a more luxurious sheer. However,
some structured pleated headers calculate finished width differently,
so use the guidance shown for the exact header rather than applying one
formula to every curtain.
Grommets are straightforward on a compatible rod, while pleated headers
with rings or track carriers often move more smoothly for frequently
opened curtains. Back tabs and rod pockets create a clean appearance
but may be better for decorative or less frequently moved panels.
Ripple fold requires a matching track system.
Yes. A blackout curtain can use an inherently light-blocking fabric,
while blackout lining is an added layer behind a decorative face
fabric. The first option can simplify construction; the second offers
more flexibility in choosing the visible fabric. Neither eliminates
light entering above, below or beside an undersized installation.
Swatches are useful for custom orders because screens cannot accurately
reproduce every undertone, weave, opacity or texture. View the sample
beside the window during daylight and after dark, then compare it with
the wall, flooring and furniture. Natural and blended fabrics may also
show normal texture or color variation.
Verify the final product, fabric color, header, lining, panel count,
fullness, width, length and required hardware. Then review the coupon’s
eligibility, minimum order requirement and stacking rules. Because
made-to-measure products can have restricted cancellation and return
options, read the policies displayed at checkout before submitting the
order.
Product specifications, customization choices, discount terms, production
times and store policies may change. Confirm all measurements and the
currently displayed terms on the relevant product and checkout pages before
ordering a made-to-measure item.
