This policy explains how DiscountedSavings collects, evaluates, labels, and updates price and promotion information. Our goal is to help users understand what was observed, when it was observed, and what limitations apply.

Sources We Use

Depending on the merchant, our sources may include product feeds, merchant product pages, publicly available promotions, affiliate-network data, and merchant APIs. Automated systems help us collect and normalize product names, links, images, prices, currencies, availability, coupons, and cart-discount results.

Price Tracking

  • Current price is the latest price recorded from an available source.
  • Regular or previous price is shown only when the source provides a usable comparison price or our system has a relevant recorded value.
  • Price history reflects the observations in our own tracking record; it is not a complete history of every price the merchant has ever offered.
  • Lowest recorded price means the lowest value in the available DiscountedSavings tracking history for that product, not necessarily the lowest price ever offered anywhere.

Coupon Verification

When technically possible, selected coupon codes are tested against active products in a merchant cart. We may record the number of products tested, the number for which the code applied, the observed discount, the price after applying the code, and the test date.

A tested or verified for this product label means the code produced a qualifying cart result during that check. It is not a guarantee that the code will work later or for every visitor. Eligibility may depend on country, currency, customer status, minimum spend, product, quantity, bundle, subscription, or other merchant rules. Codes that cannot be tested reliably may still be displayed as untested offers when supported by current source information.

Automatic Cart Discounts

Automatic discounts are treated separately from coupon codes. They require no code and are identified only when the merchant cart returns evidence of an automatic discount allocation. Where available, we retain the merchant-provided promotion title, affected products, observed savings, after-discount prices, and verification date. The label applied automatically in cart means that this behavior was observed during the recorded check.

Best Available Discount and Product Ordering

When a product has more than one observed saving, the site may highlight the option that produced the lowest recorded product price under the available test data. Product ordering can also use recency, price-drop size, price history, deal quality, and store diversity. A highlighted result is a comparison aid, not a guarantee of the final checkout total.

Freshness, Availability, and Corrections

Product-update dates and coupon-test dates describe different events and are stored separately. We do not intentionally present old data as newly verified. When a store is temporarily unavailable, we may retain clearly identified historical information, but we do not treat an inaccessible store or an untested old result as a fresh verification.

Automated processing can produce errors, including mismatched products, stale availability, source-format changes, and incomplete cart responses. We correct or remove information when newer source data, test evidence, or a credible correction report shows that a listing is wrong.

Editorial Independence and Automation

DiscountedSavings may earn affiliate commissions, as described in our Affiliate Disclosure. Compensation does not change recorded price observations or coupon test outcomes. Data processing and some summaries may be created or updated with automated tools. We do not present an automated cart check as personal use of, or first-hand experience with, a product.
